Life's Miscellaneous Wonders

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Life's Miscellaneous Wonders Author: Stasia Jade Maharaj Rating: 4/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: The author has faced harsh realities and life threatening situations which has shaped her in writing this book. It is inspired by her own emotions and experiences till now. The author's journey made me realize I have to go a long way as I am still naive about many things. "Veins to Vines" makes us wonder how we share similar traits with strangers. It makes us realize how sometimes after meeting a stranger, we get entangled with them and feel as if we belong there for our whole life. I am currently experiencing this situation where I am in love with a guy who doesn't feel the same for me and I am unable to give up on him.  "What is, was to be" tells us not to regret anything in life. It reminds us of our worth.  The goal of the author through this book is to comfort others by her words and rhymes. The writing style of the author would touch your hear

Fallout

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Fallout Author: April Simons Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Korie is a strong character that is immediately likable. I loved the way she looks after her family and Haven community in the absence of her father. Even though she is young and a kid herself, she isn't afraid to face the challenges. She looks after her sisters, gathers food for her community, plans to keep her community safe, goes out in search of her father, etc.  The thought of losing another family member after losing her mother and Dean gives a deep chest ache to her. When her dad returned to Haven after the incident at the medical center, Korie filled him in on everything. When her dad checked the video footage, he noticed two guys in it who had worked for Roy before coming to Haven. Is Roy behind the attack?  Korie's dad thought of confronting his friend Roy. Roy needed the blood of Korie's family to run some tests. What is his motive behind doing that? Could he hurt Korie and her family?

Legacy

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Legacy Author: Chris Morehouse Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Those who seek wisdom should definitely get their hands on this book. This book increased my knowledge about the connection between African traditions and Christian practice. This book is rich in content and I am grateful for all the wisdom that this book has given me.  This book guides us to live an abundant life. It tells us that we are from dust and would be dust again after death. The below proverb, inspires me to be a child of light For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the  Lord. Live as children of light. —Ephesians 5:8 The Questions for Study and Discussion would help you in self-discovery, getting more clarity about what you want. These questions will leave you wondering and would deepen your understanding. I wish I would have read a book like this in my younger years. The wisdom that this book gives, I have learned that the hard way. This book has various countries and ethnic group

Stifle

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Title: Stifle Author: Caleb Thornton Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Stifle is the latest book that I have read by the author Caleb Thornton. The chapter "Sensitive Boys Suffer Silently" is my favorite from this book. In this book, the author has written about very deep emotions of his. I was able to relate to a few of them as I am myself too sensitive. I feel like "I am Fragile. Handle with care" kinda sensitive.  The author has expressed how crowded functions are overwhelming to him. This story makes us learn that sometimes people are going through things with whom they find it difficult to cope themselves. They sometimes try to deal with their own trauma by doing or saying bad things to others.  This story may open your eyes. I felt relatable to many things from the story and I appreciate the lessons I learned from them. The title of the book is suitable. The writing is simple. Even those who are new to reading could give this book a try. I read this

Twin Flames

Book Review: Twin Flames Author: J. L. Berkowitz Rating: 5/5 Review: As you start reading this book, you might wonder what Twin Flames is. Well, you have to read this book till the last page to get that answer and it will be worth every second of yours. The author Berkowitz has written an interesting fantasy world. The writing of the author is descriptive and the story is well paced.  The story picked pace when Aree went on a mission that would help a lot in her transformation. She would encounter great challenges and there are many lessons for her on the journey. Her mate Michael couldn't go with her on the mission. Would this mission create the distance between two lovers? Are Aree and Michael the Twin Flames of each other?  Aree, Michael, Sassy, Raphael, Gabriel all are interesting characters. The story took an interesting turn with Sassy and I didn't have any idea that she would play such an important role. The twists and turns would keep you going till the last page. I w

A Shadow Upon His Soul

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: A Shadow Upon His Soul Author: Ophélie Caton Rating: 4.5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: This is the first time I have read a book by the author Ophélie Caton. It is a riveting tale set in World War II England. Karl is a seventeen-year-old boy. When his father heard about the Nazis invasion in Denmark, his father decided to send him to England. Although Karl thought that he would be an adult soon and could take his decisions himself, he had to listen to his father.  Karl safely reached England and started his life by living on the streets. He drank water from wherever he could get it. Being Danish in an English country isn't an easy thing. However, Karl survived as the day passed. When Karl was badly beaten, the compassionate Hopkins family helped him in whatever way they could help.  The plot of the story is well constructed. The cover photo is attractive and made me pick this book. The characters are well developed. Karl's character is written well by the author. The

An Aunt's Animal Alphabet

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: An Aunt's Animal Alphabet Author: Hailey Kathleen Hall Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: "An Aunt's Animal Alphabet" is a lovely picture book in which the author has expressed her creativity to the fullest. I read this book with the kids in my house.  We came across many animals. We were happy to meet some of the animals below.  1 Jaguar - he has sharp teeth. 2 Mouse - who likes to eat cheese. 3 Owl - who's up all night and is not fond of light. 4 Yak - a big and hairy animal. Interesting facts about different animals piqued my interest in this book. I also recommended this book to my sister for my nephews. The illustrations are pretty and made me enjoy this book with the kids. If you want your child to know about the animals of the animal kingdom then this is the perfect book. Go with it without any second thoughts. The author has won my heart with her brilliant work in this book.  I will surely keep an eye on her future work too. 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
