Havana Hangover

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Havana Hangover Author: Randy Richardson Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Randy Richardson's latest book 'Havana Hangover' is an espionage thriller set in Havana. Tanner Ford and Anabel Dubois were together in college. When Anabel met Jackson Swift, the two of them got involved with each other thereby hurting Tanner. Tanner hadn't expected his best friend to take away his girlfriend.  This put a stain on their relationship and Tanner moved on. Even though Tanner moved on, the hurt he got from being cheated made his life hell for the past five years. In Havana, when Jackson went missing, we found Tanner looking for him at 5 am in the morning.  What could have happened to Jackson? With every turning page, tension rises and the readers might bite their nails while wondering where Jackson is. The story is written in a smooth flow. This is the first book written by the author that I have read but it won't be the last one for sure. The cover photo is eye-...

The Faithful Dog

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: The Faithful Dog Author: Terry Lee Caruthers Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Based on a true story and the history of the Fifty-Eighth Illinois, the book 'The Faithful Dog' highlights the beautiful bond and the faithfulness of a dog towards his master.  Bärchen lives with Elizabeth, Louis and their little daughter Louisa. When Louis Pfeif left home for training, the family dog Bärchen followed him with the thinking that he would protect his master for the time Louis was away from home.  During the training, Bärchen showed various skills and tactics which made Louis sure that he would do great on the battlefield too. Second Lieutenant Pfeif was attached to the Fifty-Eighth Illinois regiment. On the battlefield, Bärchen's eyes, ears, nose everything stayed alert. He did the best he could do to protect his master.  The way the story ends is different from my expectations but I loved the faithfulness of Bärchen. While reading this story, I became fond o...

The Many Wonders of Deanie

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: The Many Wonders of Deanie Author: Bernadine Ziegler Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: 'Peek-A-Boo' is a poem that would take married couples down the memory lane and would remind them of their courtship days. The author felt blessed to get the kind of man she ever wanted as her soon-to-be husband.  'He always brings me flowers' is a great story. In this, the author always had a wish to receive flowers from her man. Then one day, she found Mr. Perfect who first gave her a single red rose and then more flowers on more days. She got the intuition that he is the one. Some other poems or stories that I loved from this collection are: my first and second car, My Three Little Angels, Coffee, etc. This book takes readers on a rollercoaster ride full of different emotions. I binge read this book on the weekend. I am truly grateful to the author for sharing her thoughts with each of us. The writing style of Bernadine is different and I enjoyed it. It would be gre...

This book takes us closer to God. It enhances our faith in God. God wants our love and trust. He also wants to give love to us.  "A Perfect World" is a world of God in which he has created all the living and breathing things. God is everything for the author.  "A Prayer to God" depicts that the author couldn't imagine life without God. She obeys the Lord and has her everlasting devotion. 'A letter to you', 'I'm Thankful For', 'I'll Never Forget' are few of the chapters from the book that are my favorite. God is the ultimate path. With his blessings, our life gets better.   🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Waves of Summer Author: Stephanie Brooke Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Waves of Summer is a book that will give you summer feelings just by looking at the cover photo of the book. Once you start reading this book, you will get more such vibes. This captivating story pulled me in so strongly from the beginning. Summer has lost her sister Autumn in a road accident. Since then, her parents are raising awareness among others about how dangerous drinking and driving could be. Summer hasn't healed from the loss yet. Her parents asked her to go to Maui so she could live with her grandparents for the summer. When she had to relocate to the guest house, Summer started feeling lonely.  But life has other plans for her. One summer changed the life of Summer. Now, she has to choose her old life or a new one. The choice isn't easy but it's inevitable.  The backdrop setting of Maui is something I loved. The author has written each character very well. It is an engag...

Don't Play the Game

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Title: Don't Play the Game Author: Wes Mogenson Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: In the middle grade fiction genre, Wes Mogenson has become one of my favorite authors. His writing style is fantastic and would pull the readers in the story so much that one would crave for more story after the book is finished.  Pam and Eric are surprised to see everyone crazy about the Creature Hunt app. It's a gaming app in which the students are hunting the creatures. Pam and Eric's friends even decide to trade the creatures thereby putting their life in danger. Pam has no idea about her best friend Amber. Vince is also not at home. Both of them are missing and many other students are in danger.  Pam and Eric are intelligent kids. Will they come up with a way to save their friends? The author has used simple language in the book and hasn't complicated the story much. Middle grade readers who are looking for a book for light reading should get their hands on this one. 🌸🌸🌸...

The Curious Spell of Madam Genova

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: The Curious Spell of Madam Genova Author: J G Schwartz Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: The adventure in the book "The Curious Spell of Madam Genova" began when the good luck spell on two pocket watches went terribly wrong. The spell was done to bless the two watches but that was backfired.  Whoever finds the watch will also find luck but if someone loses it then misfortune would follow. The owners of the watches have to be very careful with the watches if they don't want bad luck. The story features famous personalities of the twentieth century such as Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, etc.  I appreciate the way the author has created subplots. The way the watch goes from one owner to another has a detailed narrative and makes this story a page turner. Those who want an escape from their routine should get their hands on this book. You would binge read it. I am delighted to read this book. I am definitely interested in reading...
