The Boy who really hated Christmas

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: The Boy who really hated Christmas Author: Charlie Damitz Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: I read a lot of Children's books. This time I read an Advanced Reader's Copy from the author.  Ned is the boy who hated Christmas. He has his own reasons for it and his reasons seem valid to the readers. Ned has heard from everyone around him to be a good boy and Santa would bring lots of gifts for him. From the past three years, Ned has been good. But, he hardly received any presents.  His friend Barney agreed with him. One of their classmates, Barth Rifkin, is not a good kid. Still, he has abundance, gets presents, etc. Barney and Ned feel that it isn't fair. Then Barney thought that maybe Santa likes the bad kids. With this thought in mind, both the boys are ready for an adventure. Their mischief will hurt other people.  The book is written in an easy to understand language, making it perfect for young readers.  The illustrations would make this story more lively.

Tangle with Fire

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Tangle with Fire Author: Theresa Gage 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Aidan's mother doesn't give him the permission to learn warrior skills. However, he wants to be accepted by others. He doesn't like being called a wuss behind his back. His brother Santurin and his friends tease him. One day Aidan wanted to relax so he went fishing. He had an accident there and the river pulled him downstream. Later, Aidan had no idea where he was. He felt as if he was being followed but luckily he reached home safely.  Aidan cooked up some lies to tell to his elder brother Santurin. His fifteenth birthday brought a surprise to him. His heart always wanted one thing and that was to learn warrior skills. Today, his father agreed to it. Aidan had no idea that while learning hunting from his father, his father would be killed. He sees his brother as a king in the future with him having a blurred future for himself. I am not going to give too much away here but this story is beautifully

Altered Existence

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Altered Existence Author: April Simons Pages: 232 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: I'm a huge enthusiast of post-apocalyptic narratives. Recently, I came across a fresh author, April Simons. Her novel, "Altered Existence," captivated me from start to finish with its gripping storyline and unexpected twists. Korie, in her father's absence, shoulders the weighty responsibilities of safeguarding her sisters and procuring supplies for the Haven community as winter approaches. Her dad has been gone for months, searching for his wife and daughter, Georgia, and the odds of his return grow slimmer by the day. Amidst these challenges, Korie and Dean, who are in a romantic relationship, become bunkhouse roommates, demonstrating unwavering support for each other. The story unfolds in this perilous world, leaving us wondering whether Korie will keep her family intact or face the loss of a valued Haven community member. I can honestly say there wasn't a single dull mo

Growing through the Storm

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Growing through the Storm Author: Sheila Malsam Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: "Growing through the Storm" is one of the best books that I have read this year. This book teaches us to not give up too soon on God and our faith. It teaches us to hang tightly to God. This book made me believe that if things aren't happening our way in our life then they will happen in God's way when the time is right.  This book made me realize how stupid I was to not believe firmly in God. God is the answer to all our problems. He gives challenges and problems to us so that they can shape us and make us stronger. I appreciate Sheila's parents for the support they provided to her daughter. The support and love from loved ones is very important in troubled times. Even after two troubled marriages, her parents and children didn't give up on her. Loved ones should support their family members in times of need.  Sheila's sister made her realize how she wasn'

As he embarked on coaching his daughter Anna and a group of young girls in the world of cheerleading, he discovered invaluable life lessons. While accompanying Anna to practice sessions, Patrick found himself in a unique position as many other parents were moms, not dads. However, he persevered in cheering on his daughter. The plot thickened when he was invited to become an assistant cheer coach, providing insights into dedication, hard work, resilience, teamwork, and effective coaching. This book immerses readers in the vibrant world of cheerleading, celebrating the heartwarming father-daughter bond that Patrick shares with Anna. It serves as an inspiring testament to the importance of parents creating lasting memories with their children, even in unfamiliar territory. The narrative encourages

An Everlasting Truth

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: An Everlasting Truth Author: Jeanette Hernandez Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Through her book "An Everlasting Journey", Hernandez takes the readers on her spiritual journey. She has witnessed a dead body, miracles at an early age in her life. On many occasions, Jeanette questions God why he allows her to suffer, "why has he forsaken her?". God always reminds her that he hasn't forsaken her. He reminded her that she doesn't have to fix her troubled heart. It's not her responsibility. God is there for her and he would do whatever is good for her.  This book is a great eye opener to us that we start leading our lives and then wonder why we aren't getting what we want. We should let God lead our life. I got my hands on this book at the right time. I needed a reminder about this lesson. In her early twenties, things were overwhelming for the author. Therefore, she called it her midlife crisis. She felt spiritually empty. The way she e

The Forbidden Fruit

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: The Forbidden Fruit Author: Tina Scott Rating: 4.5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: I am a big fan of reading memoirs and am glad to get my hands on Tina Scott's 'THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT'. It is a must read by those who cherish memoirs.  The book is written in five parts: Death, death is part of life, this is the part about sex and drugs, eighty-two days in Kathmandu, a true ghost story. Eighty-two days in Kathmandu is my favorite part of the book. I enjoyed reading the journal entries. The author learned the taste of Indian cuisine, saw real Arab sheikhs, learned a language from a private tutor, yoga classes, visited Monkey Temple, etc. Her experiences in Kathmandu inspired me to live my life differently instead of following the same routine. Also, this book inspired me to start writing a journal. I had a great time reading Tina's story. The way she didn't stay stuck in her grief is inspiring to me. Loss is inevitable, we should accept it and move forward in lif
