🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Waves of Summer Author: Stephanie Brooke Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: Waves of Summer is a book that will give you summer feelings just by looking at the cover photo of the book. Once you start reading this book, you will get more such vibes. This captivating story pulled me in so strongly from the beginning. Summer has lost her sister Autumn in a road accident. Since then, her parents are raising awareness among others about how dangerous drinking and driving could be. Summer hasn't healed from the loss yet. Her parents asked her to go to Maui so she could live with her grandparents for the summer. When she had to relocate to the guest house, Summer started feeling lonely.  But life has other plans for her. One summer changed the life of Summer. Now, she has to choose her old life or a new one. The choice isn't easy but it's inevitable.  The backdrop setting of Maui is something I loved. The author has written each character very well. It is an engag...

Don't Play the Game

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Title: Don't Play the Game Author: Wes Mogenson Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: In the middle grade fiction genre, Wes Mogenson has become one of my favorite authors. His writing style is fantastic and would pull the readers in the story so much that one would crave for more story after the book is finished.  Pam and Eric are surprised to see everyone crazy about the Creature Hunt app. It's a gaming app in which the students are hunting the creatures. Pam and Eric's friends even decide to trade the creatures thereby putting their life in danger. Pam has no idea about her best friend Amber. Vince is also not at home. Both of them are missing and many other students are in danger.  Pam and Eric are intelligent kids. Will they come up with a way to save their friends? The author has used simple language in the book and hasn't complicated the story much. Middle grade readers who are looking for a book for light reading should get their hands on this one. 🌸🌸🌸...

The Curious Spell of Madam Genova

Image
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: The Curious Spell of Madam Genova Author: J G Schwartz Rating: 5/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: The adventure in the book "The Curious Spell of Madam Genova" began when the good luck spell on two pocket watches went terribly wrong. The spell was done to bless the two watches but that was backfired.  Whoever finds the watch will also find luck but if someone loses it then misfortune would follow. The owners of the watches have to be very careful with the watches if they don't want bad luck. The story features famous personalities of the twentieth century such as Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, etc.  I appreciate the way the author has created subplots. The way the watch goes from one owner to another has a detailed narrative and makes this story a page turner. Those who want an escape from their routine should get their hands on this book. You would binge read it. I am delighted to read this book. I am definitely interested in reading...

Attaboy

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Book: Attaboy Author: Caleb Thornton Rating: 4/5 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 Review: ATTABOY is a short memoir that gives us the overview of the author's relationship with his father and the other men in his life. While Caleb's mom was busy at work, his father bonded with him by spending time with him. Caleb's father never expected him to be tough. Caleb could always be himself around his dad and that means a lot to anyone.  His father makes him feel like a prince. When his father was suffering from a hernia, all Caleb wanted was his father's well-being. He played the role of a father for his dad and took good care of him.  If someone lets us be ourselves. Then, that person is a blessing in our life. Readers would enjoy reading about Mr Painter and his role in Caleb's life. I had a great time this weekend while reading this book. After reading this book, now I feel like I know the author closely. Great work done by the author in this memoir. Looking forward to reading m...

A Week with Waffles

Title: A Week with Waffles Author: Tom Speicher Rating: 5/5 Review: A Week with Waffles is a great book that parents should pick for their kids. The story features a cute guinea pig named Waffles.  Waffles week is busy and fun. Kids would be glad to know about Waffles' everyday activities. Waffles' has a loving best friend. Tom makes sure that Waffles stay healthy, safe and comfortable.  It was fun to see Waffles doing exercise by climbing up and down the outside of her igloo. Exercise makes Waffles feel better.  By looking at the Waffles weekly planner, it seems like Waffles has a great week. I will have a weekly planner for myself. I will add fun activities to do for the entire week. Grateful to Waffles as her weekly planner has given me a new idea and something to look forward to. Tom should come up with more interesting bedtime stories like this. Kids would have a great time reading such stories. A must read book by the little ones.

Falling Home

Book: Falling Home Author: Libby Kay Rating: 4.5/5 Review: I wanted to end this year with a sweet contemporary romance novel. Therefore I picked up Libby Kay's FALLING HOME.  This is the first novel of the author. Also, it's the first book in the Buckeye Falls book series. From the name of the series, you must have got the idea that the story is set in Buckeye Falls, Ohio. It's a small town that is also the hometown of our main characters Max and Ginny.  I enjoyed reading about Ginny's father spending time with Max while Ginny was in New York. It made me feel like Max cares for Ginny's family. The way Max loves and craves for Ginny really touched my heart. In relationships many ups and downs come but we should support each other in the difficult times. Read this book to know whether Ginny and Max will give a second chance to their relationship.  The writing is smooth and gripping. It's an unputdownable read that is well structured and has a strong plot. If you...

Title: You Don't Need the Likes Author: Glo Rose Rating: 5/5 These days, kids and adults are having so much screen time. As a result, they have to wear spects at a young age. This journal by Glo Rose challenges little readers to complete different challenges offline.  I appreciate the creativity of Glo in designing the challenges for this journal. Even adults could take these challenges. I had a great time reading this journal.  While completing these challenges, readers will get many more ideas to add new challenges to their list. I had a costume party with my friends and we all enjoyed it a lot. I am looking forward to more such journals. It is a unique book. Experience different challenges and have fun in life. Loved the creativity of Glo.
